Project Overview

A Social Media Health Explainer on Pink Eye

Client: Internal CareNow brand team
Type: Short social media motion graphic
Context: Educational content designed for high engagement on platforms like Instagram and LinkedIn

Scope of Work

  • Conceptual storyboarding

  • Visual asset design and animation

  • Sound-off optimization for autoplay

  • Pink eye (conjunctivitis) is a common health concern—but showing it visually often results in content that’s either too clinical or uncomfortably graphic. The creative challenge was to make a video that was clear, digestible, and visually appealing while sidestepping anything gross or off-putting. The goal: inform the audience without turning them away.

  • I led the visual concepting for the piece, opting to abstract the symptoms through shape, motion, and color rather than literal imagery. Animation techniques were used to suggest discomfort, transmission, and resolution without ever relying on photographic or anatomical visuals.

The video was created entirely in Adobe After Effects, using custom vector elements and stylized transitions. Color choices and motion cues were carefully tuned to reflect urgency and relief, matching the tone of the messaging without being alarmist or clinical.

  • Deliverables were created using Adobe Illustrator, and AfterEffects.

Client Feedback

“You got the point across without ever showing something that made people look away. The visuals were clean, smart, and still totally on message.”

Results

  • The video performed well across internal and public-facing channels, with positive engagement and no content complaints

  • It stood out from typical health content by being visually polished and non-triggering

  • It was approved with minimal edits, and the art director praised the creative solution
